7 DAYS SAMBURU-OL PEJETA-NAIVASHA-MARA

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu
Breakfast and proceed to Samburu , driving through lush tea and coffee estates, descending from the Laikipia Plateau to Kenya’s arid north. Arrive in time for Lunch at your camp for check in. Afternoon game drive in this reserve which is well known for spectacular scenery and wildlife not found in the south: Reticulated Giraffe, the rare Grevy’s Zebra with narrow prints unlike the plain zebra, the gerenuk Antelope standing on its hind legs to feed and Somali Ostriches with their distinctive greyish-blue neck & legs. Dinner and Overnight Lodge/Camp.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve:
Breakfast and then proceed with a full day game drive.You may see Elephants, Cheetah, Leopard, Eland, Oryx, Impala, Dikdik, Waterbuck and a variety of birds which are abundant with 365 species recorded, one for every day of the year. This lava plain includes a varied landscape of red dirt, thorn scrub, broken volcanic rock, dried riverbeds, steep hills and rocky outcroppings. Following the river’s curves, a forest of Doum Palms, Acacia and tamarind is a magical contrast of cool green. Other areas of the Reserve include the Ewaso Nyiro River where crocodiles sun bath themselves on the banks. Meals and Overnight at Lodge/Camp

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast and then proceed to Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is famous for not only being the home of the last standing 2 Northern White rhinos in the world, but also for its healthy population of both black and white rhino, all the big cats and the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. Arrive in time for lunch and have a few hours at leisure and then head for the evening game drive. Dinner and Overnight at Lodge/Camp.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Naivasha, another of the lakes of Africa's Great Rift Valley. Animal life abounds in this natural oasis, from hippo and buffalo wallowing among the papyrus reeds to giraffes nibbling the acacia, Colobus monkeys leaping from tree to tree and innumerate species of birds adding flashes of colour and exotic calls. You will arrive at lodge in time for lunch. Few hours at leisure before proceeding for a boat ride.Dinner and Overnight at Lodge/Camp.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, Drive to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve via the scenically beautiful Great Rift Valley and Narok. This enormous reserve is part of the vast Serengeti Plains, famous for its spectacular wildebeests’ migration and is home to the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. You will drive through the reserve as you enjoy the Savannah with vast herds of wildebeests and zebras wandering across the grasslands. You will also have a chance to see other plain game like the Maasai Giraffe, Eland, Buffalo, Topi, and both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles. The enormous landscape of the Mara and its concentration of many varieties of game make it a fitting climax to your safari.Dinner & Overnight at Lodge/Camp.

Day 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve :
After Breakfast, and then head for a Fullday game drive, the day will be spent in the reserve driving across the plains in search for the great predators and perhaps even their cubs. On the plains you will come across enormous herds of grazing animals,cheetah and leopards hiding amidst the shrubs . The reserve hosts the highest concentration of wild animals than any other park in the region. You shall transverse the reserve on unlimited game viewing drives in search for the big five and of other games with picnic lunches served at the reserve. Meals & Overnight at Lodge/Camp.

Day 7: Departure/ Maasai Mara - Nairobi :
Enjoy breakfast before driving back via the Great Rift Valley to arrive in Nairobi at approximately 1400hrs. You will be dropped off at the designated place.
